The West Berkeley Plan & Sustainability:
Economy, Environment, and Equity

presented by:
WEBAIC • West Berkeley Artisans & Industrial Companies

Thursday March 20, 2008, 6:30 PM
West Berkeley Senior Center
1900 Sixth St., corner of Sixth St. & Hearst Avenue

The West Berkeley Plan, West Berkeley's guiding zoning document, was created through an open community process involving all interested West Berkeley stakeholders and City staff.  The City of Berkeley Planning Department now proposes to change fundamentally both the content and structure of the Plan. These changes have the potential to significantly alter the composition of West Berkeley's vital and unique economic mix of businesses, the ethnic and economic diversity of the City's workforce and population, and the environmental balance of the City and region. The process addressing these changes is being conducted without the meaningful participation of the community that was the hallmark of the widely respected and innovative West Berkeley Plan process.

To enable the community to make informed decisions on these important issues before us, WEBAIC has invited the following speakers to present their uniquely informed and valuable perspectives:
